Teens Arrested After Machete Attack and E-Bike Robbery in Whitworth

Whitworth, Rossendale, Lancashire, UK - Three teenage boys have been arrested in connection with a violent robbery in Whitworth on April 4th, which saw a 19-year-old man attacked with a machete and his expensive electric bike stolen.

Finley Leech, 19, was reportedly left in a "state of shock" after being ambushed by the group on a football pitch within the reserve. At least one of the attackers was armed with a machete, and Finley sustained a huge cut to his arm and swelling to his head during the assault. The culprits then made off with his Cube hybrid electric bike, valued at approximately £4,000.

The chilling account details a brutal attack on Finley, a resident of Whitworth, who was targeted after attempting to distance himself from a local gang. The initial assault began with a barrage of fists, a clear message of intimidation and dominance. However, the violence escalated dramatically when a member of the group brandished a machete, transforming the altercation into a life-threatening situation. The sudden appearance of the weapon suggests a premeditated intent to inflict serious harm, leaving Finley vulnerable and fighting for his safety as he tried to escape the escalating brutality.

Police confirmed that Finley and his friends were playing football when they were approached by the group. Following the attack, Finley's injuries were grievous. He was treated in hospital, and his large wound has been documented.

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that three boys, two aged 16 and one aged 17, all from Rochdale, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. They have been bailed pending further enquiries.
