Former Rochdale Green Party Co-Chairman Jordan Eves Joins Conservative Party
Rochdale, July 1st 2025 — Jordan Eves, a prominent local figure and former co-chairman of the Rochdale Green Party, has officially joined the Conservative Party, marking a significant political shift. Born and raised in Rochdale, Jordan revealed that despite a brief and regretful deviation in the most recent general election when he voted Labour for the first time, he has consistently supported the Conservative Party since becoming eligible to vote.
Jordan’s return to the Conservative fold is influenced by his long-standing concern for protecting green belt land, a core issue he says aligns more naturally with Conservative policies. “After co-chairing Rochdale’s Green Party, I’ve come to realise that the Conservative approach is likely the most pragmatic and effective way to safeguard our environment and green belt against unchecked development”, Jordan explained.
A supporter of the coalition government of the early 2010s, Jordan candidly acknowledged that he may have contributed, in his own way, to the coalition’s success through his youthful blogging efforts, which gained modest attention at the time of the credit crunch.
Today, Jordan Eves makes his mark as a media writer and content manager, contributing to several outlets including The Rochdale Valiant, The Rochdale Mirror — a newly launched WordPress site — ukreform.org.uk, Planet Faculty, and nationalmedia.uk (also known as nationalnews.uk). His writing often covers political analysis, economic reform, and international relations.
During his tenure with the Green Party, Jordan maintained a neutral stance on the subject of Green Party republicanism but has since voiced his views on international matters. He chooses not to promote the Palestinian cause, citing concerns that it can sometimes fuel radical Islamic nationalism globally. Instead, Jordan advocates for a balanced perspective that recognises the importance of a strong Israel.
Expressing his dual patriotism, Jordan identifies as both a British and American patriot. He actively promotes western stock exchanges and supports progressive trade initiatives with Asian markets, underscoring his belief in the benefits of global economic cooperation rooted in shared democratic values.
Jordan Eves’ political journey highlights the evolving landscape of political affiliations in Rochdale and beyond, reminding local voters of the complex interplay between personal convictions and party politics.
