Rochdale Man Jailed for Historical Child Sexual Offences

A Rochdale man has been jailed for historical sexual offences committed against children, following a police investigation into crimes spanning over a decade.

Aslam Khan, 61, previously known as Maurice ‘Morris’ Wynn, received a seven-year prison sentence. He was found guilty of seven counts of indecent assault against three victims.

The offences, which came to light after the victims bravely reported them, occurred between 1987 and 1998. Greater Manchester Police confirmed the timeline of the abuse.

The courage of the victims in coming forward, nearly 40 years after the initial incidents, was acknowledged by Detective Constable Stacey of GMP’s Major Incident Team.

In addition to the custodial sentence, Khan was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which will remain in place for life. The sentencing took place at Manchester Minshull Crown Court on July 25th.
