Man Hospitalised Following 'Father and Son' Altercation Outside Rochdale Pub

Rochdale, Greater Manchester — A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being struck with a glass during a violent altercation outside a pub in Rochdale town centre.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that emergency services were called to The Butts at approximately 7:00 PM on Thursday, 23rd June, following reports of a fight breaking out between two men.

According to witnesses at the scene, the incident involved a father and son who were locked in a heated dispute outside Hogarth’s pub. Onlookers reported that the argument quickly escalated, culminating in the son allegedly striking his father with a glass.

A large police cordon was promptly erected around The Butts as emergency services flooded the area. Significant amounts of blood could be seen on the pavement within the taped-off zone while investigative officers worked to gather evidence and document the scene.

The victim transported to the hospital. Police have since confirmed that while his injuries are serious, they are not believed to be life-threatening.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing. Greater Manchester Police have not yet confirmed if any arrests have been made in connection with the assault.
