Man Arrested on Suspicion of Dangerous Driving After Audi Crashes into Railings in Rochdale
Rochdale, United Kingdom – A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following a one-vehicle collision that left a trail of debris and damaged railings in Rochdale on Tuesday evening, April 15th.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at around 7:30 PM at the junction of Bolton Road and Marland Old Road. Upon arrival, they found a dark-coloured Audi A3 that had ploughed into some railings, causing the car to spin into the roadside. The impact was so severe that a wheel from the vehicle was sent flying into a nearby bus stop, located close to a Tesco supermarket.
Two fire engines from Rochdale Community Fire Station responded to the scene, working alongside Greater Manchester Police to secure the area and ensure the safety of the public. Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 30 minutes, during which they helped to clear the debris and stabilise the damaged vehicle.
