Rochdale School Set for Repair Work as Part of Billion-Pound Investment in Public Buildings

Rochdale, Greater Manchester - Bamford Academy in Rochdale is set to benefit from a significant wave of government funding aimed at repairing and upgrading crumbling schools and hospitals across the country. The investment, totalling over one billion pounds, forms part of funding packages announced during last year's autumn budget.

The government has confirmed that projects focussing on improving school infrastructure will be delivered during the 2025/26 financial year, with the initial upgrades commencing this summer. This initiative aims to address urgent repair needs and create a more conducive learning environment for students.

The funding allocated to Bamford Academy will enable much-needed repairs and improvements to the school building, ensuring a better and safer learning environment for students and staff. The upgrades will address issues related to the building's condition and contribute to a more modern and functional space.

Government plans are for the allocation of £470 million to address urgent infrastructure issues, nation-wide. This funding is specifically targeted towards projects like repairing dilapidated roofs and safely removing hazardous asbestos, aiming to create safer learning environments for students.
