Three Arrested as Police Seize Over £200,000 of Drugs in Rochdale Bust

Rochdale, Greater Manchester – Drugs with an estimated street value of more than £200,000 have been seized and three people arrested after a suspicious vehicle stop in Rochdale on Saturday evening.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) reported that the major operation began when patrol officers spotted a vehicle being driven in a, "suspicious manner". The driver then attempted to flee, abandoning the car.

Before making off on foot, the suspect allegedly tried to hide a quantity of drugs and several mobile phones underneath the vehicle.

The incident prompted officers to conduct a search at a related address. Inside, they discovered a significant haul of Class A and Class B drugs, valued at over £200,000. A large amount of cash, stated to be approximately £20,000, was also seized along with other drug-related paraphernalia.

Following the discovery, two men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs with the intent to supply.

GMP’s County Lines team in Rochdale detailed the successful operation in a social media post on Monday, which included photographs of the seized evidence.

Writing on Facebook, the force stated: "On Saturday... at 6.40pm, officers on patrol in Rochdale observed a vehicle driving in a suspicious manner. It is believed the occupant tried to evade officers by abandoning the vehicle, disposing of suspected drugs and hiding phones underneath it before making off".

The statement continued: "Additionally, an address was searched which resulted in a large amount of class A and class B drugs being seized with a street value of approximately £200,000, as well as approximately £20,000 in cash and other drug-related items".

Police have confirmed the three individuals arrested in connection with the incident remain in custody for questioning. No further details have been released at this time.
