Officers from Greater Manchester Police were dispatched to the Mercure Norton Grange Hotel on Manchester Road in Castleton at approximately 2:00 AM.

When in attendance, police put crime scene tape in place outside the hotel. Crime scene investigators were also observed at the scene to gather evidence.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed the details of the incident. "We were called shortly before 2 AM to reports of a fight", explained the spokesperson. "A man was taken to hospital and another man arrested on suspicion of assault and taken into custody for questioning".

The hotel addressed the situation on social media, confirming that an incident had taken place but assuring guests that the situation is now resolved.

"An incident occurred in the early hours this morning", the hotel's statement said.
