Rochdale Man Arrested on Suspicion of Indecent Exposure in Wardle
Rochdale, UK - A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure, following a string of reported incidents in the Wardle area of Rochdale this week, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed.
The arrest comes after concerns were raised by residents regarding multiple instances of indecent exposure taking place in the popular open spaces of Wardle. Police have acted swiftly to address these concerns and re-assure the local community.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Jay-Naren Uppal addressed the issue, stating, "Additional patrols and resources have been deployed to the area so that those enjoying these open spaces in the warm weather feel safe".
Sergeant Uppal emphasised the force's commitment to supporting victims, adding, "Victims of reported exposure incidents will be listened to, believed, and supported through the process".
While an arrest has been made, police are urging anyone who believes they have been a victim of a similar incident in the Wardle area and has not yet reported it to come forward.
“If you believe you have been a victim of a similar incident in this area and have not yet reported this to us, we encourage you to get in touch", Sergeant Uppal said.
Greater Manchester Police are asking anyone with information regarding these incidents to contact them on 101, quoting the reference number related to the initial reports. Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
