Vandalism Forces Heywood Church to Close After Heavy Damage Caused

Heywood, Greater Manchester – A beloved local church has been forced to close its doors for up to three weeks after being trashed in a devastating break-in, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Trinity Methodist Church in Heywood was targeted by vandals in the early hours of Thursday morning, August 14th. Church members were left shocked and heartbroken to discover a scene of widespread destruction when they arrived later that day.

Intruders wreaked havoc throughout the building, tearing down a large section of the ceiling and smashing multiple doors. Cupboards were ransacked with their contents strewn across floors, and the church's plumbing system was deliberately damaged, leading to further issues.

The incident was immediately reported to the police, who have confirmed they are investigating the break-in and act of criminal damage.

As a result of the extensive damage and the need for significant repairs, the church has had to make the difficult decision to suspend all activities.
