Woman in Her 90s Found Deceased Outside Rochdale Events Venue

Whitworth, Rossendale, Lancashire – A woman in her 90s has been found deceased outside a well-known events venue in Whitworth early on Sunday morning.

Emergency services were dispatched to Market Street at 6:28 AM on Sunday, September 7th, following reports of an unresponsive woman.

Crews from the North West Ambulance Service and Greater Manchester Police attended the scene. The woman was discovered near the Ashcroft venue, a popular location for weddings and other functions in the town centre.

Despite the attendance of emergency responders, the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will now be prepared and passed to the coroner to determine the formal cause of death.
