Man Arrested on Suspicion of Stalking After Car Torched in Littleborough
Littleborough, Rochdale – A man has been arrested on suspicion of stalking and conspiracy to commit arson after a car was deliberately set on fire in an early morning attack over the weekend.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called to Cleggswood Avenue in Littleborough at approximately 1:15 AM on Saturday, September 6th, following reports of a vehicle ablaze.
In a statement released on Sunday, police confirmed that an investigation was underway and that an arrest had been made in connection with the incident.
A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of stalking and conspiracy to commit arson. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that no one was injured in the fire. "Thankfully, no-one was hurt during the incident", said GMP.
Detectives are now urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or has relevant footage from the area at the time to come forward. Police are particularly interested in doorbell, CCTV, or dashcam footage that may have captured the moments before or after the vehicle was set on fire.
Anyone with information is asked to contact GMP by calling 101 or using the force's Live Chat service at gmp.police.uk, quoting log number 205 of 06/09/25.
