Greggs Eyes Littleborough Petrol Station for New "Food-to-Go" Pod
Littleborough, UK - The popular bakery chain, Greggs, is reportedly considering a significant expansion into Littleborough, with new plans submitted to Rochdale Council proposing the demolition of a car wash to make way for a 'food-to-go' pod.

The proposed development, situated next to the existing service station off Church Road, would see the current car wash facilities replaced by a 70-square-metre Greggs unit. This pod would encompass a sales area, a serving station, and a dedicated storage and bakery section.
Greggs has allegedly been exploring opportunities to establish a presence in this specific area of the Rochdale borough for some time. If approved, this Littleborough outlet would join the extensive network of thousands of Greggs shops across the UK, a company founded by John Greggs over 85 years ago.
The plans, submitted by Motor Fuel Group (MFG), also address existing parking challenges at the petrol station. Currently, the site lacks formal parking bays, leading to congestion. The new proposal includes the creation of five dedicated car parking spaces to alleviate these issues.
According to MFG, the introduction of the Greggs pod would also generate employment opportunities, with projections indicating the creation of four full-time and four part-time jobs.
The proposal now awaits a decision from Rochdale Council. If given the green light, Littleborough residents could soon have easy access to their favourite Greggs pasties, sandwiches, and sweet treats directly at their local petrol station.
