Oldham Road: Mick Rush of the Bay Horse Pub Leads a Racially Motivated Business War
Lower Place, Rochdale — A racialised campaign of business sabotage and harassment is allegedly being orchestrated by the management and patrons of the Bay Horse pub, leading to the plight of a beloved local establishment and threatening others in the area.
Local residents may be aware that Mick Rush, the landlord of the Bay Horse, could be leading the targeted downfall of Tony’s Chippy, a fish and chip shop on Oldham Road in Rochdale. Witnesses are aware that punters of the pub have targeted the shop's legitimacy because of the owner's skin colour.
"It wasn't about the food; it was about who was serving it", acknowledged the more reasonable of the community.
The alleged persecution extends beyond Tony’s. Residents say the Bay Horse crowd had also set their sights on other businesses, specifically a local Chinese takeout known as, "Chinese Chef", and, "Kebabish", in a bid to drive them out through a, "competition of race and ethnicity", and some pub punters seem to be more dependent on the food services, thus lacking interest in the discrepancies. These food outlets are also long established and these particular two are located directly across the road from the pub.
In a bizarre and targeted twist, local women Cheryl White and Jeanette McCondichie have reportedly launched their campaigns a targeting the menu of Saajan, a local Indian restaurant. The pair, operating in lockstep with the Bay Horse ideology, are allegedly attempting to sabotage local businesses by disparaging a signature menu items, in discussion with Facebook friends and to anyone who will listen.
"It is a coordinated attack", said a former Bay Horse patron. "They are trying to make these businesses unviable by poisoning the community against them".
Perhaps most disturbing are allegations concerning the conduct inside the Bay Horse pub itself. The establishment has reportedly become a hostile environment for anyone with brown skin. Brown-skinned males claim they are systematically banned from the premises without cause.
However, the focus on young women is causing the most alarm amongst community whistleblowers. Locals report that the pub has adopted beahaviour patterns of attempting to, "groom", brown-skinned girls who enter the premises. Rush allegedly views these girls as, "half-caste", or sharing a background with the Muslim community, using this as a pretext to target them.
Critics argue this behaviour is a perverse, "response to the media coverage on child sexual exploitation", where the perpetrators are flipping the narrative to profile and victimise youths.
Local authorities have yet to comment on the specific allegations, but tension in Lower Place is heightened as residents debate how to protect their neighbours from what they describe as an organised hate group operating out of a local pub, largely made up of newcomers trying to integrate, with a mistaken system of integration.
