Police Pursuit and Four-Vehicle Crash Leads to Man Being Arrested

Rochdale – A man in his 20s has been in police custody following a dramatic multi-vehicle collision on Whitelees Road in Rochdale, which concluded a police pursuit during night-time hours.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the incident, which occurred overnight, involved four vehicles. Despite the severity of the crash, which saw one vehicle end up on top of another, no injuries have been reported.

The collision brought a chaotic scene to the Rochdale main road that connects part of the A58 to Clough. Images captured from the aftermath show the wreckage of the incident, with an Audi perched precariously on top of another car. Officers in an unmarked police vehicle were documented at the scene as the situation unfolded.

Following the crash, officers arrested a man on suspicion of failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, and driving without a licence.

As part of the ongoing investigation, one vehicle has been seized by police.

Traffic on Whitelees Road was affected while emergency services dealt with the incident. Police enquiries are ongoing.
