Five Arrested After Dramatic Police Raid on Middleton Estate
Five people have been taken into custody following a disturbance at a residential estate in Middleton that prompted a large-scale emergency response on Thursday evening.
Greater Manchester Police and paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service locked down on part of The Heath in Alkrington at approximately 5:30 PM on May 28th, following reports of a violent altercation.
Witnesses at the scene described a chaotic environment as emergency services converged on the area. According to one local resident, the alarm was raised after a young girl was heard screaming, followed by the sound of a window being shattered.
Following the intervention, five individuals were arrested on suspicion of affray. They remained in police custody where they were being questioned by officers.
Medical teams provided assistance at the scene, with the force confirming that three people sustained minor injuries during the incident. It is not yet clear if any of those injured were among the five arrested.
The presence of the police and ambulance crews drew a crowd of onlookers to the quiet residential street as the situation was brought under control. Police remained on-site for some time following the arrests to conduct initial inquiries.
