Woman Dies, Man Arrested for Murder After Welfare Call to Rochdale Flats
A woman believed to be in her 40s has tragically died, and a man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of murder, following an incident at Freehold Flats on Tweedale Street in Rochdale. Greater Manchester Police officers attended the address after receiving reports of a concern for welfare.
Police were initially alerted to the situation on Sunday afternoon. Officers then attended the Tweedale Street property at approximately 4 PM. Upon entering the address, they discovered an unresponsive woman inside. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the discovery, a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of murder. He currently remains in police custody for questioning as enquiries continue.
Greater Manchester Police has stated that investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the woman's death.
