Middleton town centre is poised for a major transformation, with the historic Warwick Mill expected to be at the heart of a landmark regeneration announcement next week.
Rochdale Borough Council is understood to be preparing to take ownership of the iconic Grade-II listed mill, although the acquisition has yet to be formally confirmed.

Further details of the ambitious plans are expected to be unveiled at the 'Our Town, Our Future' event, which will take place at the Middleton Arena on Monday, 7th September.
Organisers have confirmed that the event will feature a major new regeneration announcement for Middleton town centre. This will be presented alongside the results of a massive local consultation, which gathered feedback from nearly two and a half thousand residents and businesses about the future of their town.
The evening will also mark a key milestone for local governance, with an announcement slated to celebrate the first year of the Middleton Co-operative Mayoral Development Corporation.
The development corporation has drawn significant attention for its high-profile leadership. Co-chairs Rose Marley, a prominent social enterprise leader, and Middleton-born acclaimed actor Steve Coogan are both scheduled to attend the event.
They will be joined by Rochdale Borough Council Leader, Councillor Neil Emmott, as well as local councillors June West and Dylan Williams, to discuss the next steps for the town's re-development.
