Man Arrested for Offensive Weapon After 'Suspicious' Incident Outside Middleton School
Middleton, Greater Manchester – A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon after police were called to reports of suspicious behaviour outside a school in Middleton.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) responded to the incident at Edgar Wood Academy, located off Heywood Old Road, on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 6th.
Officers attending the scene found the school gates cordoned off, with a blue tent erected by investigators. The school is currently closed for the summer holidays and is not due to reopen until September.

Following enquiries at the scene, police arrested a man. He remains in custody for questioning.
