New Family-Run Books and Board Games Shop ‘The Dragon’s Hoard’ Opens in Dearnley

Rochdale member of parliament Paul Waugh has warmly welcomed the opening of a brand-new independent business in the constituency, hailing it as a, "fab addition to our local high street".

‘The Dragon’s Hoard’, a family-run books and board games shop, officially opened its doors in Dearnley recently. Situated conveniently right next door to the popular ‘Bake n Butty’, the shop is already positioning itself as a go-to destination for local hobbyists, readers, and families.

MP Paul Waugh took to social media to share his support for the new enterprise, posting: "Many congrats to Jodie and Ash on the opening of their new The Dragon’s Hoard shop in Dearnley! Located right next door to ‘Bake n Butty’, they are a family-run books and board games shop. The perfect place for pre-Halloween shopping, and much more!"

The shop caters to a wide range of interests, specialising in Dungeons Dragons, Pokémon, Halo, classic literature, trading cards, and tabletop gaming accessories. Here is somewhere you can go to find Lord of the Rings literature. Beyond retail, ‘The Dragon’s Hoard’ aims to kindle a sense of community by providing a dedicated shared space for local gamers to meet, browse, and connect.

With its diverse offerings—ranging from spooky reads ahead of the Halloween season to strategy games for all ages—the business is expected to draw foot traffic to the Dearnley area and further boost support for independent Rochdale traders.
