Police Respond as BMW Smashes into Rochdale Takeaway on Its Opening Day

Heywood, Greater Manchester – July 9th – A new takeaway in Heywood, Rochdale, saw its celebratory first day turn into chaos on Wednesday evening when a BMW driver crashed into its storefront.

Miami's Burgers, located on Bridge Street, which had only opened its doors for business at 4 PM, was the scene of a dramatic collision as a grey BMW appeared to mount the pavement before striking the front of the eatery.

The takeaway was still adorned with yellow and black balloons, celebrating its grand opening, when the incident occurred. Pictures from the scene show the BMW embedded against the building's exterior.

Emergency services, including multiple police vehicles responding with blue lights, were seen swiftly attending the scene. Officers were pictured assessing the damage and managing the area.

While official details surrounding the collision remain unconfirmed by authorities immediately after the event, a witness at the scene claimed to have seen a woman being arrested.

Further information regarding the cause of the crash, any injuries sustained, or official arrests has not yet been released by Greater Manchester Police, immediately during the following hours. The extent of the damage to Miami's Burgers on its unexpected first night remains under assessment.
