Shop Worker Injured in Heywood Robbery, Arrest Made
Heywood, Greater Manchester – September 26, 2025 – A shop worker sustained a minor head injury during a robbery at a convenience store in Heywood on Friday morning. Police have arrested a man in connection with the incident.

Officers were called to the Best One shop on Peel Lane, formerly known as Premier, at approximately 7:30 AM on Friday, September 26th. According to Greater Manchester Police, a member of staff was threatened during the robbery.
During the incident, a metal baton was recovered from the scene by attending officers. Police believe this weapon was used to inflict the head injury on the shop worker. A small quantity of cash was also stolen from the premises.
In the afternoon, a man in his 40s was taken into custody. He has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon. He has remained in police custody for questioning.
Greater Manchester Police have stated that enquiries are ongoing. They are urging any witnesses to the incident to come forward and assist with their investigation.
