High-Visibility Patrols in Kirkholt Lead to Two Vehicle Seizures, Drivers Reported for Summons
Kirkholt, 2nd October 2025 – Proactive high-visibility patrols conducted by local neighbourhood officers in Kirkholt have resulted in the seizure of two vehicles and court summons for their drivers, after they were found to be operating without valid insurance or appropriate licences.
During the focused patrols, officers stopped two separate vehicles. In the first instance, a driver was found to be operating not only without valid insurance but also without the correct licence for their journey. The second stop revealed a driver presenting a questionable insurance policy, which subsequent checks confirmed failed to meet legal requirements, rendering the vehicle uninsured.
Both individuals involved have been referred to 'Operation Wolverine', an initiative designed to tackle uninsured driving, and have been formally reported for summons, pending an appearance in court.
Police Constable Dan Richards from Kirkholt emphasised the importance of these actions. "These proactive patrols are part of our ongoing commitment to road safety and community reassurance," PC Richards stated. "Uninsured and unlicensed drivers pose a serious risk to others on our roads, and we will continue to take robust action against those who flout the law".
Members of the public are urged to report any suspected illegal driving activity in their area. Information can be submitted via Greater Manchester Police’s (GMP) website or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
