Teenager Stabbed in Rochdale in Bonfire Night Horror Attack

Rochdale – A street was sealed off by forensics teams in Rochdale last night after a teenage boy was stabbed in a horrifying attack as Bonfire Night celebrations took place across the borough.

A major emergency services response, including police, and crime scene investigators, descended on the area of Bernard Street and Chatsworth Street at approximately 7 PM on Wednesday, November 5th. Greater Manchester Police were initially called to reports of a disturbance in the area. Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old boy suffering from serious injuries.

A spokesperson for GMP confirmed the victim’s injuries were, "consistent with a stabbing". He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital for urgent care. His condition is described as serious but is not believed to be life-threatening.

A large police cordon was immediately established, sealing off the residential streets to the public. Forensics officers were seen carrying out a meticulous search of the area for several hours, examining the area for evidence.

The attack cast a grim shadow over an evening that is typically one of celebration. Police presence in the neighbourhood, remained in place while initial enquiries were conducted.

GMP has confirmed that, as of the following morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the attack. Investigators are now appealing to the public for any information that could help them piece together the events leading up to the violent incident.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the attack and to identify those responsible.
