Traffic Operation on Queensway Yields Results, Police Target Risky Driving Behaviours
Rochdale, Greater Manchester – April 22nd, 2025 – A targeted traffic operation conducted on Queensway this past Saturday, April 22nd, 2025, has resulted in several enforcement actions aimed at enhancing road safety and curbing dangerous driving practices. The operation, led by dedicated police officers, underscores a continued commitment to reducing collisions and injuries within the community.
During the proactive initiative, law enforcement carried out a total of 37 vehicle stops. These stops led to the identification and penalisation of drivers engaging in several high-risk behaviours. Notably, five drivers were cited for using mobile phones while operating their vehicles, a persistent and dangerous distraction.
Further violations discovered included one instance of a driver carrying a number of passengers that created a clear danger, and another driver who was found to be not wearing a seatbelt. Both offenses highlight critical safety lapses that put drivers and others at unnecessary risk.
Police Community Support Officer Andrew Stewart, who provided information on the operation, emphasized the ongoing importance of these enforcement efforts.
