Rochdale Feel Good Festival Confirms 2026 Return with Official Date Set

Rochdale, Greater Manchester – The countdown has officially begun for the return of one of Greater Manchester's well known music events, as organisers have confirmed the Rochdale Feel Good Festival will be back on Saturday, 8th August 2026.

The festival, which regularly attracts many people to the town centre, was paused for 2025 as part of a new alternating schedule with another of the borough's major summer events.

Earlier this year, Rochdale Borough Council announced that it was no longer ‘feasible’ to hold both the Rochdale Feel Good Festival and the Feel Good Family Picnic every year. The two events will now run in alternate years, with the music festival taking place in 2026 and the family picnic set to return in 2027.

For its 15th edition, organisers are promising another spectacular weekend of live music, food, and entertainment. The Feel Good Festival will feature a main stage on the newly reopened Rochdale Town Hall Square, a food and drink village, and live performances across a host of indoor venues.

The event has built a strong reputation for attracting major names from the British music scene. Previous headliners have included The Fratellis, Feeder, Razorlight, Ocean Colour Scene, Cast, Scouting for Girls, and The Lightning Seeds, establishing the festival as a key date in the region's cultural calendar.

In keeping with tradition, the festival will continue to champion local talent. The coveted opening slot on the main stage will once again be awarded to the winner of a Battle of the Bands competition, which is scheduled to launch in April 2026. At the last festival, local five-piece band ‘Atlas’ played the biggest gig of their career.

The festival’s return will take place during Rochdale’s tenure as the Greater Manchester Town of Culture for 2025-26, an accolade that celebrates the borough's rich history, creativity, and diverse arts scene.

The event is funded by the council together with ticket sales and sponsorship from local businesses.
