Three Men Charged with Historical Rape and Sexual Assault of Young Girl in Rochdale
Rochdale – Three men from Rochdale have been charged with a series of historical sex offences, including rape and sexual assault, against a young girl, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed.
The force announced that a total of seven charges have been secured against the three defendants following an investigation into alleged offences that occurred between 2008 and 2009.
The accused are Naveed Anwar, 41, Mohammed Abdul-Sami, 44, and Dilwar Ali, 45, all of Rochdale. They have been charged with offences including rape and sexual assault.
The charges follow a complex and lengthy investigation by Greater Manchester Police's specialist Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Major Investigation Team.
The force confirmed the charges were brought in connection with alleged incidents reported to have taken place over a decade ago. Legal proceedings are now underway.
